Terms of Service

ScamLens provides automated tools for analyzing potentially suspicious digital content. Depending on the features available to you, ScamLens may analyze messages, text, screenshots, images, URLs, QR-code content, documents, files, and other content you intentionally submit. ScamLens may use automated systems, artificial intelligence, threat intelligence, reputation services, and other security technologies to identify potential scam or fraud indicators.

ScamLens provides informational risk assessments. ScamLens does not guarantee that any message, website, file, person, organization, transaction, or other content is safe, legitimate, fraudulent, or malicious. Security threats constantly evolve, and automated systems can make mistakes. A ScamLens result may contain false positives, false negatives, incomplete information, incorrect classifications, or AI-generated errors. A result of "Safe" means ScamLens did not identify significant scam indicators — it does not mean content is guaranteed to be safe. A result of "Suspicious" or "High Risk" indicates warning signs were detected — it does not constitute a definitive determination of wrongdoing.

Use ScamLens as one source of information when evaluating suspicious content. When appropriate, independently verify important information through trusted sources. For example, if a message claims to come from your bank, government agency, or employer, contact that organization using contact information obtained independently from its official website.

ScamLens does not provide legal, financial, investment, banking, tax, law-enforcement, or professional cybersecurity advice. Information provided through ScamLens is intended for general informational and security-awareness purposes. Consult an appropriate qualified professional where professional advice is required.

You must be legally permitted to use the Services under the laws applicable to you. If you are not old enough to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, you may use ScamLens only with the involvement or permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.

Certain ScamLens features may require an account. You agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your account. You are responsible for activity occurring through your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised or someone has gained unauthorized access.

You retain whatever ownership rights you have in content you submit. Submitting content to ScamLens does not transfer ownership to ScamLens. However, you grant ScamLens a limited right to process, transmit, and analyze submitted content solely as necessary to perform the requested scan, generate analysis results, provide functionality, maintain security, prevent abuse, and operate the Services.

You are responsible for content you submit. You represent that you have the legal right to provide the content for analysis. You should not submit unnecessary sensitive information. You must not use ScamLens to upload content that violates applicable law, violates another person's rights, contains unlawful material, is intended to abuse or disrupt the Services, or attempts to compromise ScamLens infrastructure.

Some ScamLens features use artificial intelligence. AI-generated analysis may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or inconsistent. AI systems are probabilistic — different scans may produce different results, and AI may fail to detect sophisticated scams or incorrectly flag legitimate content. ScamLens does not represent that AI-generated results are error-free.

You agree not to use ScamLens for unlawful purposes, attempt unauthorized access to ScamLens systems, circumvent security controls, reverse engineer the Services, interfere with service availability, conduct denial-of-service attacks, abuse APIs, upload malware for malicious purposes, use ScamLens to facilitate fraud, or circumvent subscription limits. We may limit or suspend access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.

ScamLens may offer paid subscriptions providing additional features or capacity. Available plans, features, prices, and billing periods will be shown before purchase. Subscriptions purchased through the ScamLens mobile application may be processed by Apple App Store or Google Play and are also subject to the applicable store's terms.

If you purchase an auto-renewing subscription, your subscription will automatically renew unless canceled according to the applicable app-store rules. Before purchase, ScamLens will display the subscription price, billing period, included benefits, trial terms if any, and how to manage or cancel.

Subscriptions purchased through Apple should be managed through your Apple account. Subscriptions purchased through Google Play should be managed through your Google Play account. Canceling an auto-renewing subscription prevents future renewal. Unless otherwise required by law or store policy, cancellation does not provide a refund for time already purchased.

Purchases made through Apple or Google are subject to the applicable store's billing and refund rules. ScamLens does not control whether Apple or Google approves a refund processed through their systems. Nothing in these Terms limits refund or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScamLens is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that every scam will be detected, every legitimate communication will be recognized correctly, risk scores will always be accurate, AI-generated explanations will always be correct, or that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in this section excludes warranties or consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScamLens and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services, including losses resulting from reliance on an incorrect scan, failure to detect a scam, incorrect classification, third-party websites, fraud committed by another person, lost data, or service interruption. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

Our collection and processing of personal information is described in the ScamLens Privacy Policy, which forms an important part of your relationship with ScamLens.

We may update these Terms as ScamLens evolves. When material changes are made, we may notify you through the ScamLens app, email, or our website. The "Last Updated" date identifies the latest revision.

You may request deletion of your ScamLens account through: Settings → Account → Delete Account Deleting your ScamLens account does not automatically cancel an active Apple or Google subscription. Verify your subscription status separately through the store through which you subscribed.

If a provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
